We have the experience, tools, and parts to work on bicycles. We ride and we work on bikes. That is said so often, it becomes trite. We live it. It is common for us to leave work all riding and all on unique bikes we’ve built and modified. Indeed, it would be hard to have the same exact collection of bicycle equipment two days in a row when we leave together. We are always trying different product and new combinations of riding equipment.

When we are not riding we work in a bicycle store, one of the best bike shops in the twin cities! The five core members of our staff have a combined 64 years experience in professional bicycle employment. In addition to our years at County Cycles and other bike shops, most of us have worked as mechanics at races, tours, and other events. We also bring you backgrounds in wholesale, frame building, manufacturing (bicycle accessories, of course), racing, touring, commuting and as a manufacturers mechanic on the road for events and races. We know bikes!

We have the tools to do most jobs. We have the knowledge to know that it is impossible to have every obscure specialty tool that there ever was. We do common repairs on all pedaled wheeled machines. We have most specialty tools for mountain, touring, children’s, commuting, and road bikes. Our tool boxes and boards are full of tools from Park, Campagnolo, Var, Bicycle Research, Wrench Force, Stein, Bondhus, Felco, Sugino, Wheel Smith, E Z Sharp, and Snap-On. Our passion, when we are not riding, is working on bikes. We try to keep the parts on hand that we need to finish what we start. This is no small task as we routinely work on bikes from all around the world and from many many decades. When we do not have a part or accessory on hand we know who to call and what can and cannot substitute. We will happily special order items for you at anytime from one of our hundreds of vendors around North America.

The bicycle wheel is an impressive engineering marvel. They come in an infinite variety of diameters, widths, hubs, tire mounting types, spoke diameters, materials and colors. We believe in and ride mostly on hand built custom tuned spoked wheels. They have a long history of being strong repairable and economical. One of our pro wheel builders will guide you through the process of determining the best combination of tire, rim, spoke, and hub. In a short time you will be riding a wheel that is guaranteed and was built just for you. Your bike will love you for it!

Today’s narrow chains shift well when new, but do wear out faster. Half of all the parts of your bike are in the chain! Treat it nicely. That means lubricating, cleaning and replacing when needed. We have a device to measure your chain wear. Let us check it for you.

We would love to work on your bike for you. Whether you need a tune up, cleaning, flat tire repaired, or that custom frame assembled we can do a great job for you. Estimates and advice are always free, so bring your bike in!
